Katie Lianza

I believe that each one of us is here to make the world a better place. My gift is the power to create a safe space for others to quiet their minds and listen to their heart. If someone is struggling, I believe it is because they have a shortage of essential skills needed to take on whatever problem they are faced with. I provide services of building mindfulness skills; taking a mind-body approach and focusing on the whole person through mindfulness based stress reduction, writing, and nature. Often, we can struggle with social skills, emotions, confidence, procrastination, impulsivity, and attention. To counteract these behaviors, I help build the skills for a calmer headspace through nature based mindfulness and meditation.

I am a certified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for Teens Trainer and also have a Masters of Education in Secondary English. I have twenty years experience teaching as an English and Advisory teacher and have found that journaling, memoir, and poetry unites people to hear their inner voice. For the past five years, I have taught middle school English online and have found great success connecting with students through an online platform. Along with teaching and mindfulness, my true passion is working in nature. I love to be outside and I hope that we can make nature part of our classroom.

With that, I have experience working with young people with a range of challenges including learning difference, executive functioning challenges, and mental health such as anxiety and depression, as well as those looking to develop more positive coping skills to navigate stress they encounter in their lives. I also have personal experience with goal setting through marathon training, Appalachian Trail section hiking, and project implementation as a Peace Corps volunteer. My life’s work is holding space, one moment at a time.

My main goal is to help others find their center and to quiet their mind. For me, I have found that much-needed stillness in meditation, writing, nature, and sharing space with a trusted ear. I hope to provide the same for others to find the same peace.

Please reach out if you believe you may benefit from working with me. I am happy to answer any questions you have. I wish you peace in this moment.

All good thoughts,

Katie

It takes time to get into routine but once you understand and know what to do it becomes a daily routine. Everyone deals with stress differently and once you know how to reduce it you become a better version of yourself. It takes being kind and patient with yourself.

I believe that my issues were resolved. Being unmotivated, stressed all the time, anxiety attacks, anger. They all have been turned around, sometimes still apparent, but can be controlled.

“Over the last 8 weeks I truly loved taking a deeper look into my past, as well as my present self, my body awareness, and my feelings, to ultimately discover the roots of what I am feeling and where my anxiety is stemming from. Katie then gave me the tools/gifts to aid in controlling the physiological characteristics that I have been experiencing, to allow myself to feel and to help me to control the symptoms.”

“My issues are many and have not been fully resolved however I have learned tools to help me work through the resulting physiological characteristics that have resulted. It feels so nice to finally focus on the little things, to digest the roots of the problems and finally work on the foundation of what has been causing my anxiety.”
